Dig Deep
Depression’s shift to deep depression is like a piggyback upon a piggyback upon a piggyback. It does not ease up. It does not let up. It is relentless. The goal is to relentlessly never ease up, never let up, and consistently be relentless when applying positive antidotes. You will find that you will effectively stem the tide of deep depression at the door, pull yourself out of depression itself, and find a way out to the other side: a side of mental strength, health, and balance. Responding Responsibly You’ve seen this phrase used throughout the book: responding responsibly. The reason it is mentioned so much is because it is an important phrase. It is the reaction you are seeking from yourself to demonstrate or confirm to yourself, and through your circumstances and everyday actions, that the positive antidotes are working. When you apply a positive antidote, the antidote has to have evidence of responding responsibly. If you don’t respond responsibly, then the antidote didn’t work, and you have to apply a different one. When you are trying out the positive antidotes, you find out it’s about trial and error. Trial and error becomes less and less necessary, and may become a bygone practice for you, as you find out which positive antidotes work best for you. Your goal is to seek out the culprits and hurt them, hurt them, hurt them.
